OVERVIEW
SYN is a synchronization request packet on the Internet.
SYN means “together” in ancient greek.
SYN is the synapsis. Through the synapses a neuron exchanges informations with other one within a neural network managed by the brain.
SYN is an artificial brain, a neural system with a constant exchange of electrical impulses. An interactive installation receiving data from the visitors to build a map of human communications filtered by new media. Are we just synapses transmitting data packets from one media cell to another? Are we a tiny part of a bigger brain?
The “social brain” (Luis Cozolino) exchanges information through social impulses, rather than chemical-electrical. In contemporary society, the social impulses do not just come from physical relationships but increasingly also from virtual ones. SYN represents that.

TECH SPECS
QuartzComposer sets a precise videomapping activated by audience web-interaction and topic related tweets. Using a mobile device (smartphone, tablet or laptop), anybody can send a spark, a creative contribution, from the event location or from all over the world. Each spark will activate the installation and can be visualized on the dedicated app.
